I having been teaching at the Austin Museum of Art at Laguna Gloria since 2005, and graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in Studio Art in 1991. I am also a mobile fine art instructor in the Austin area teaching art skills to interested students in their homes, giving moms some much needed free time! My teaching style is to take the mystery out of drawing and painting using simple art tricks and techniques. I believe all of us have an innate artistic ability and ANYONE can learn how to create amazing works of art-- it just takes a little good instruction to bring it out!
I specialize in teaching the elements and principles of art to young artists, creating more realistic images almost instantly. The lessons focus on a lot of drawing techniques with graphite first, then the artists move on to charcoal/chalk pastels, and finally paint. Students have quick and amazing results from even just a little of instruction--and authentic artistic confidence naturally blooms!
